Hold on to your scarves and mittens. Yes, it’s another designer sample sale and just in time for Christmas too. The Secret Sample Sale and the London Accessory Sale take place conjointly at Chelsea Old Town Hall, London on December 18. Not that I’m suggesting this is a good opportunity to tick off some Christmas shopping, but rather a sly opportunity to treat yourself.

Cosme.Net 2008 The Best Cosmetics Awards

Cosme.Net (@Cosme) has posted the feature on The Best Cosmetics Awards 2008. The results are based on reader reviews of products released between November 1, 2007 and October 31, 2008.

Two things that caught my attention are the Best Eyeshadow and Best Newcomer awards. My two favorite eye palette series in 2008, Coffret D'Or's 3D Lighting Eyes and Lunasol's Sheer Contrast Eyes (both from spring 2008) are number 1 and 2 on the list. (Sofina Aube's Impression Eyes took the number 3 spot.) 3D Lighting Eyes also won the Best Newcomer award.

I am happy that it seems many other people agree that the two ranges offer fantastic products. The two 3D Lighting Eyes palettes I have, Purple and Gold Variations, are among my favorite eye palettes, while Sheer Contrast Eyes' Lavender Coral is also among my favorites and is probably my favorite lilac palette at the moment.

These items are undoubtedly some of the makeup highlights for me in 2008, and I am certainly looking forward to what these two brands have to offer in 2009!

Nicolas is re-launching his own label for this spring, it will consist of about 25 looks for men, with some unisex styles and also jeans for women. should start hitting some stores in january-february. in March, he will also present a women's collection in Paris.

You're re-launching your own collection for s/s09, was the decision to continue that route easy? Definately not in the present economic situation! It was a very difficult choice considering I am totally independent. But it felt to me like the right thing to do and the right place to put my heart and energy into.

Do you prefer to think that you're picking up from where you left earlier or rather of this being a completely new start?
Every collection is in it's way a continuation of the last. That said, it's over a year and a half since I presented a collection under my own name, so things have changed a little and I've grown up as a person and designer and moved on. There's certainly a new element to the collection. I'll leave that for others to mull-over though, for me it's really a spontaneous thing.

How would you describe your aesthetic in general?
That's a tricky question because every adjective that I can find to describe my work I'll just as soon contradict it with another. But I really believe in the now and here, I'm not interested in looking back, or doing historical or trendy things. It's very graphic, linear, sober, (maybe some would even say stoic) and very much influenced, in a very spontaneous way, by nothing in particular: No big narrative (I can't work like that) and no nostalgia, just now.

The new collection is mostly men's with some unisex styles, will you present a women's line as well?
Absolutely, I am planning on presenting Women's in March in Paris, this coming year. Doing women's wear is wonderful I enjoy fully all the avenues of expression that it affords.

Cherry Creek Off Center Ring
I like things that are just a little off. If you do as well then this ring is for you. I purposely soldered this off center. Just a little bit of imperfection for your finger. This ring is a size 7 but will fit a little more like a 6 1/2 or 6 3/4 because the band is wide. The band measures almost a 1/2 an inch at its widest part, this band tapers slightly from end to end. It has been hammered and filed to give it some more character.

Jason Priestley & Shenae Grimes Meet Up

Two generations of 90210 converged at the 2008 Gemini Awards at Intercontinental Hotel’s Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Friday, November 28 in Toronto, Canada.

Former Beverly Hills 90210 actor Jason Priestley, 39, and 90210 starlet Shenae Grimes, 19, met up on the red carpet at the event.

Jason will direct an episode for the new 90210 series, which will air this spring. His former on-screen sister, Shannen Doherty, is expected to return for two more episodes later this season.
