Tina Fey opens up about dropping 30 pounds for Saturday Night Live, her facial scar and remaining a virgin until her 20s in the January issue of Vanity Fair.

LOSING WEIGHT

Fey, 38, says her career took off after she dropped 30 pounds with Weight Watchers.

“I’m five-foot-four-and-a-half, and I think I was maxing out at just short of 150 pounds, which isn’t so big. But when you move to New York from Chicago, you feel really big,” says the 30 Rock star - who started working in comedy in the Windy City.

Adds Fey’s husband, Jeff Richmond (who composes the music for his wife’s award-winning sitcom): “She was quite round in a lovely, turn-of-the-century kind of round - that beautiful, Rubenesque kind of beauty.”

Fey says she knew she had to drop the weight after catching a glimpse of herself in an SNL monitor as an extra.

“I was like, ‘Ooogh.’ I was starting to look unhealthy,” she says. “I looked like a behemoth, a little bit. It was probably a bad sweater or something. [Or] maybe cutting from Gwyneth Paltrow to me.”

She called her husband that day and announced: “OK, I’m starting Weight Watchers.”

The diet worked - too well. As Fey’s star was on the rise - she took over as “Weekend Update” anchor and became the show’s head writer - the cast grew worried about her becoming too slim.

“I got to that thing that’s so enjoyable where people tell you, ‘Oh, you’re thin, you’ve gotten too thin,’” Fey says. “[SNL creator Lorne Michaels] was like, ‘Please, please make sure you’re eating.’”

Now the actress has found a happy medium, but still watches her weight.

“The most I’ve changed pictures out of vanity was to edit around any shot where you can see my butt,” she says. “I like to look goofy, but I also don’t want to get canceled because of my big old butt.”

The star - who blames her curves on the “Greek-girl thing, I have, like, boobs and butt” draws the line at cosmetic surgery though.

“I don’t have botox or anything,” she says.

HER FACIAL SCAR

Fey opens up about the faint scar that runs along her left cheek, which was the result of a cutting attack by a stranger when she was five years old.

“It was in, like, the front yard of her house, and somebody who just came up, and she just thought somebody marked her with a pen,” her husband says.

Adds Fey, who rarely speaks about the incident: “It’s impossible to talk about it without somehow seemingly exploiting it and glorifying it.”

Growing up, Fey didn’t feel self-conscious, “because I proceeded unaware of it. I was a very confident little kid. It’s really almost like I’m kind of able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of ‘Oh, I guess we should use this side’ or whatever. Everybody’s got a better side,” she says.

How has the attack affected her as a mother to three-year-old daughter Alice?

“Supposedly, I will go crazy,” says. “My therapist says, ‘When Alice is the age that you were, you may go crazy.”‘

REMAINING A VIRGIN

Fey also admits that she wasn’t very popular growing up.

“I really didn’t have very many dates at all. And that’s not an exaggeration. But also, I don’t think we should discount the fact that unplucked eyebrows and short hair with a perm may not have been the best
offering, either.”

In fact, “I remember bringing people over in high school to play—that’s how cool I am—that game Celebrity. That’s how I successfully remained a virgin well into my 20s, bringing gay boys over to play Celebrity.”

SARAH PALIN IMPERSONATIONS

Fey also responds to the criticism that she was too hard on Sarah Palin with her impersonations.

“What made me super-mad about it, was that it seemed very sexist toward me and her,” she says. “The implication was that she’s so fragile, which she is not. She’s a strong woman.

“And then, also, it was sexist because, like, who would ever go [and say], ‘Well, I thought it was sort of mean to Richard Nixon when Dan Aykroyd played him,’ and ‘That seemed awful mean to George Bush when Will Ferrell did it.’”

Though she’s well-known for her sex tape scandal, as well as for posing nude in last year’s Playboy Celebrity Issue, Kim Kardashian says she’s done prancing around in her birthday suit.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” hottie recently explained her Playboy Centerfold experience to FOX Pop Tarts, saying, “It was a one-off.  I don’t think I’ll do Playboy or anything like that again.”

“Jen is very free when it comes to showing off her body,” the bodyguard told Star. “When she answers the door in the morning, she’s wearing a mini camisole and underwear.”

The bodyguard says this type of dressing didn’t only happen during one isolated incident. She enjoys dressing like this, or better yet barely dressing, all the time.

“She never covers up,” the bodyguard continued. “Everyone is used to that. That’s just Jen! She’s always half-naked.”

The bodyguard ended the interview by saying that new “new all of her moles by name” because Anistomn was naked so often in his presence. Really not that bad of a boss, eh? I know I’ve had worse.

Its been getting pretty cold here in NYC lately, I’m getting prepared for the harsh Winter- I heard its going to be bad this year. The weather has been acting weird, it seems like its playing hot and cold for the past month or so. But I’ve been putting away my summer clothes and pulling out my winter gear.

I recently received a pair of EMU Australia High Hip boots to review, before I received them my teen cousin has been raving about them. She’s obsessed with these boots and told me they are a staple in her closet and her friends (but this may be a teen thing, I’m not a teen haha). I honestly haven’t had a chance to wear them out yet due to fluctuating weather. Its def not cold enough to walk out in these Australian merino wool boots, at least for me. But I did try them out at home and its really warm and cozy, it felt like I was walking on rug- super comfy! This High Hip style is really cute, loving the ribbon accent and high shaft, especially since I’m always in skinny jeans and leggings the boots looks great with them. I’m looking forward for the weather to get colder to wear them out, now I have a pair to keep warm. The only thing about these boots is that I know they’ll get dirty easily so its definitely a no no to walk out in these when it rains or snows. I may get my cousin a pair for Christmas since she loves them and its affordable, they’re available at Macy’s, Amazon.com, Journey’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Bon Ton Stores.

Living it up during her time in Italy, Miranda Cosgrove was spotted having a marvelous time at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Milan last night (November 30).

Though she’s only fifteen years old, the “iCarly” actress was working it on the red carpet like a pro, sporting a black and white leather Members Only jacket overtop a black graffiti-style dress with black stockings and black lace-up heels.

Even though Germans manage to date chicks that typically have mustaches and drink a lot of beer, they still don’t want Britney Spears hanging out. So she’s coming home, which comes shortly after her disastrous performance on Britain’s X Factor and The Bambi Awards. Terrific. Now that she is back, the paparazzi can come back from vacation. I wonder how many photographers burned up all their sick days on this deal? Anyways, Britney is back. Her new single and video is out. Go check it out.

Ricki Lake has trimmed 140 lbs. from her all-time top weight of 270 pounds – and says she is holding steady.

“I can’t believe I was a fat person for most of my life,” the former talk show host, rocking a sexy black Herve Leger dress (size small), told PEOPLE at a recent benefit for the New Space for Women’s Health, a New York City birthing center slated to open in 2010.

“I didn’t have surgery and I worked hard. There’s no secret. I’m active. I watch what I eat,” Lake, 40, adds.

But she’s certainly not immune to the pressure to stay thin. “According to Hollywood standards, I’m not a thin girl. I’m a normal girl,” says the mom of two boys, Milo, 11, and Owen, 6. “I don’t want to perpetuate that obsession but yet I am also guilty of wanting … to lose weight.”

“I’m just grateful that I have sons and not daughters because it’s that much harder,” she says.

Lake sticks to meals delivered by a service called Fresh Dining (”It’s organic, it’s fresh, and I still love it,” she says) but admits unpredictable factors in life could one day interfere.

“With the weight stuff I don’t have any answers,” she says. “Something tragic in my life could happen and I could balloon and gain weight. I can’t promise I will be like this forever.”

Recently, Lake has been focusing on making a sequel to her 2007 documentary The Business of Being Born, and is working on a guide to pregnancy, due out in May.

And with the holidays in full swing? “I will be really conscious because I have this book coming out and I want to look great,” she says. “I don’t need to lose anymore weight. [But] I don’t want to go backwards. So I’m not going to pig out this Christmas.”

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are set to receive $2 million for pictures of their newborn baby.The married couple - who welcomed their first child together, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, into the world last week - could receive the staggering amount for the first exclusive shots of their son.

Publicist Howard Bragman said: “I see Ashlee and Pete coming in at the low seven figures mark.”

“Two million seems like a good, solid figure for Ashlee and Pete. It’s a two-celeb couple, so that’s a boost for them.”

“Keep in mind, last year, Ashlee was the girl who sang along to the tape recorder.”

“It was a PR nightmare. Now, she’s a newlywed and a new mom, so she’s a lot more relatable.”

Bragman also said Ashlee should take heed from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who reportedly received $20 million for the first photo shoot with their twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon.

He added: “Nobody does this better than Angelina.”

“She and Brad Pitt have been very careful to make it clear that the money they’ve been getting has been part of their charity outreach work.”

“The big bucks are a nice perk, but for them, the publicity is priceless.”

Nicole Kidman refuses to sing in front of her musician husband.

The 41-year-old actress – who is currently filming musical movie “Nine” – is far too embarrassed to show off her voice in front of country music star Keith Urban as she is afraid he would mock her.

She said: “I will never, never sing in front of him. I wouldn’t even play him the track of me singing.”

“Sometimes I might hum in front of him but that’s it. Keith is pretty tough with that kind of stuff. He’s highly musical.”

Despite her musical fears, Nicole had a UK number one single when she duetted with Robbie Williams on 2001 song “Somethin’ Stupid.”

Nicole – who gave birth to Sunday Rose, her first child with Keith, earlier this year – recently revealed she was extremely anxious about starring in “Nine,” despite having appeared in 2001 musical film “Moulin Rouge!.”

She said: “I’m only working a couple of weeks in it and it’s so lovely to have this rapport with other women. And it’s nice to be singing and dancing again, but I’m really nervous to do it.”

“Because I’ve just had a baby your body can’t do certain things. They’ve adapted certain things for me, and for having the baby around the set.”

“I’ve had her there the whole time and she knows all the songs and has given them the thumbs up. Of course, with Keith, she’s surrounded by music - she’s very at peace with it.”
