Battle of the Blondes: Raquel vs Toni

Sometime after Halloween, Craig McDean shot Raquel Zimmermann in a studio space in Yonkers, NY for Oscar de la Renta's Spring 09 campaign, replacing Anja Rubik and Magdalena Frackowiak.

The campaign marks the third for Raquel for next season, who's already shot a De Beers campaign, and Marc. So far, the only other model with more major campaigns for Spring 09 is Toni Garrn, who you'll see in Emporio Armani, Fendi, Hugo Boss Black and Shiseido.

Toni may have taken Raquel's spot at Fendi for next season, but if either Lanvin or Roberto Cavalli decide to keep Raquel on the payroll for Spring, then she unofficially wins for most campaigns of any model for next season. But, if Jill Stuart keeps Toni on for another season, then she's back in the game against Raquel.

If only they had a Rock 'em Sock 'em for this.

Oscar de la Renta's bridal collection for Spring 2009 really does have a dress for every type of bride. From dramatic gowns to a delicate short dress to a strapless gown with a dramatic ruffled hemline. Bridal fashions for Spring continue to center around romantic, goddess-inspired looks. Fabric choices that complement this look include silk, satin and charmeuse.

Continuing the Grecian-inspired looks of Fall 2008, Spring 2009 takes on some inspiration from muses of yesteryear with a long, loose-fitting, flowing gown. These dresses are ideal for tall and slender women who want to accentuate their shoulders, collar bone, and neck area. November 1949 - Ted Shore long sheath dress with a sweeping overskirt in brocade. The dress sold for $45 ($410 today) at DePinna. The model wears long white gloves and rhinestones at her ears and neck.

December 1959 - At left, a pale green satin sheath with floating panels at the back. The wide waistband is of glittering brocade. Dress by Cameo Evening Fashions sold for $125 ($925 today). The model wears a rhinestone necklace as a tiara and statement rhinestone earrings. Long formal gloves and satin shoes by Herbert Levine complete the look.

At right, a pink silk peau de soie ball gown with shimmering crystals decorating the bodice. Dress by Rappi (remember her?) sold for $145 ($1075 today). The model wears rhinestones at the wrist and long rhinestone chandelier earrings.

October 1964 - Oscar de la Renta exclusive for Elizabeth Arden sky blue silk faille with crystals embroidered at the wide waist and hem. This much sparkle only needs pearl earrings by Marcel Boucher and a statement coiffure.

October 1963 - crystal encrusted pink satin strapless evening gown with matching stole by Sophie of Saks. The model wears white formal gloves and white satin shoes. One doesn't need jewelry with this much sparkle!

Victoria's Secret model Karolina Kurkova put her bombshell curves on show during a photo shoot in Miami over the weekend, but it was her peculiar belly button that was attracting all the attention.
The Czech blonde's unusual navel had onlookers perplexed as she frolicked on the beach over the weekend in a tiny white bikini.

It's not the first time her almost non-existent belly button has drawn attention.
A source has revealed magazine and catalogue art directors routinely airbrush one in for in post-production.

'Karolinas body is amazing, but her belly button is unusual,' a fashion insider told Page Six magazine.
'It disappears in photos, so we keep a collection of belly button shots in different positions, and Photoshop them on to her whenever shes doing a bikini picture.'

Still, if she was at all self-conscious, she didn't let it show as she posed up on the foreshore.
The following day she was she was once again strutting her stuff at the lingerie company's catwalk extravaganza.
She was among the 35 Victoria's Secret models to hit the runway, including Heidi Klum and Orlando Bloom's current flame, Australian Miranda Kerr.

R&B singer Usher opened the show at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel where the front row was filled with stars including Paris Hilton, John Stamos, Kim Kardashian, Martha Stewart and Klum's husband, Seal.

Karolina, who has appeared in campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Chanel and Balenciaga, remains one of the most in-demand models.
Her advocates include photographer Mario Testino, designer Marc Jacobs and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who dubbed once dubbed her 'the next supermodel.'

While her popularity shows no sign of slowing down, she hopes to cross over into acting.

She recently filmed a small part in Sienna Miller's upcoming action move G.I. Joe, which is scheduled for release next year.

Resort wear is a specialized clothing style, as well as a year-round fashion season. Sometimes known as cruise wear, it was not long ago resort collections were worn only by jet-setters and celebrities who would purchase these garments while on vacation in warm-weather climates. Today, these garments are a growing part of many wardrobes. I just fell in love with Calvin Klein's Resort Wear Collection for 2009. The fabrics look so luxe and comfortable.

Russian Vogue is turning 10 this year, and although the magazine already threw an epic bash in Milan, it wouldn’t a birthday without a Moscow blowout. The magazine has asked the biggest design houses in the world to paint their own versions of nesting dolls or matreshkas. Houses like Marc Jacobs, YSL, Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, Versace, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney, and Giorgio Armani got into Russian spirit for the occasion. On November 20, the one-of-a-kind works will be acutioned off for chairty.
