Fat Freddy’s Drop need no introduction but let me give you a bit of background on the collab between FFD and Jazzanova. They wanted to create a new feeling. “Flashback” is a heavily dub drenched souler, Jazzanova wanted something light, a house tune for club peak times but also for mediterranean after hours. In one word: something “easy” .

Jazzanova deliver the proof that the outstanding voice and charme of FAT FREDDYS DROP´s vocalist Joe Dukie shows its unique flavor in way more than only one context. There´s nearly nothing left of the original mix besides some snippets of the FFD´s brass section.

NBC wunderkind Ben Silverman has announced the details of his latest hilarious gambit to save his fourth-place network: Artists including T.I., B.B. King, the Flaming Lips, and Richie Sambora have been hired to "reinterpret" NBC's 75-year-old chimes in an upcoming series of eight-second promos. According to a spokesman, it's part of a plan to get TiVo owners to stop fast-forwarding through the network's commercial breaks. Next up: figuring out how to get them to TiVo NBC's shows. [Variety]

As you would expect from a man the remixes classic American workwear, the selection is very simple. It reveals a lot behind what inspires him to create his own products.

Then I visited his site. Holy Moley I loved him.

His wry eye for detail is cleverly in line with the current underground trend for quirky, handmade pieces that have a crafty, vintage feel and an ethical ethos. There's a strong sense of humour too as Mark remixes existing tees, belts and sneakers, creating them into something fresh and eye-catching. Originally from Middlesbrough, the label's name is inspired by mixture of real geography and that rather odd place inside Mark's head - a land bursting of colour, music and, um, buttons.
