my poem (The new puppy)

Here's just a short, sweet little poem that I wrote for fun. I hope you like it! No hate coments please.

The new puppy

The new gift is finally here; I open up the brown box, to reveal, a barking sound.
I feel a cold wet nose touch my face; a Dalmatian with a red baseball collar greets me, for he’s a new pet that I receive. Black colored spots with a wagging tail,
He licks my face; I set him down, in his brand new room.
His bacon flavored treats await him for his meal,
I clip on his leash, for our daily walk, he still tugs and pulls in the other direction.
But we enjoy our time together, as we play throughout this morning,
And as he chews on his white rubber bone, I give him the name of Spot.

Despite my dislike of the skinny jeans thing, my lack of owning of anything red (I want to change this though) and them not being in my clan tartan, I've seen a pair of red skinny tartan trousers in Zara that I really really want. They're £25 which is AMAZING for a pair of trousers which are long enough. I also know that technically we're going through a credit crunch and that I shouldn't be spending money on them... but they're a fashion item which I really really like!

And I've worked very hard. And I have enough food for the week (surely?), so don't really need to spend much else...

And apparently there are Breton stripe jumpers in River Island at the moment. Guess where I'll be going at 11am tomorrow morning...

Rockstar Games and Jordan Brand celebrate their digital partnership with a limited-edition sneaker inspired by the soon to be released Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Los Angeles street racing culture. Taking their inspiration from the classic Air Jordan II released in 1987, the Jordan Classic 87 sneakers are a custom design for Rockstar Games styled in red and black with the official Midnight Club Kanji symbol emblazoned in red on the tongue. Translated, Kanji means Bayshore - the location on the Japanese coast where street racing started. Formed in 1985, the original Midnight Club was a Japanese street racing gang that hosted illegal races on the Bayshore Route of the Shuto Expressway between Tokyo to Yokohama. Regarded as one of the longest running street racing gangs, the Midnight Club became one of the most notorious and highly respected groups of its type.

The sneakers come in a custom-made etched acrylic collector’s box with a copy of Midnight Club: Los Angeles and together are valued at $380. Only forty pairs will be manufactured.

College Revelations

I think I forgot to mention that I would be spending the last few days touring colleges. Well, that's where I was, for the curious. I'm not sure what one is supposed to learn from these visits, but while spending the night in my friend Sherry's dorm, I learned that my glasses are supremely more flattering than those Buddy Holly geek-chic frames favored by so many hipsters. Shame. They are so fun to wear.

Other fashion tidbits I picked up? Well, one of my tours boasted a few stylish girls who almost manged to steal my attention from the gorgeous campus. One girl, a New Yorker (of course), wore flat, black, vintage lace up booties, ripped red tights, a sweet floral dress, and a baggy plaid jacket. Topped with a blond bob cut completely straight across on the bangs and tips, she looked achingly cool. Another look that captured my attention wasn't unique enough to bother sharing, but the girl wearing it had drawn wingtip, brogue-like styling across the toes of her Keds, and I thought they looked amazing. And my tour guide had the most perfect pixie cut I've seen in ages.

Don't worry about me, grasshoppers; most of my focus was on the schools I visited. But fashion doesn't tremble in the light of higher education, and neither does my style-watching brain.

One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other

This is SO mean, 'cause these guys are super talented and seemingly really nice and down-to-earth. But one of 'em just looks slightly different than the others -- as in, less "different," as in a tiny bit cuter. Oh, and he wears red and the others don't ... So anyway, FOB were in Barcelona yesterday for the opening of a hotel (guess that $$$'s going straight to the baby's college fund!), the ME Hotel Barcelona and their Angels & Kings bar. Cool! - But you better get home pronto, Mr. Wentz, 'cause we have a feeling the missus is about to burst! We love all you guys, FOB!

I have always been in love with the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, it’s pretty much one of my favorite handbag styles of all time. The only Speedy 30 I had never really liked was in the Epi Leather. To me the Epi Leather just didn’t have that loveable factor, or spark to it. Recently, one of your fellow bag forum members’ Arianne12 posted the Epi Speedy 25 in Cassis and I was in love. The Cassis Speedy showed how classy and elegant the Epi collection can actually be without having the “LV” logo all over it. As soon as I spotted the Cassis Speedy, within minutes I visited eLUXURY to see the Epi Speedy 30in Black and boy was I in love! I have been craving a Black Leather handbag, but I couldn’t find one I actually liked or wanted. My hunt is over, and I’m now craving the Epi Speedy 30 in Black. To me, the Epi leather gives a Speedy that classy and elegant look kind of like the Damier Ebony Speedy. The full grain Epi leather gives the handbag that special unique look to make it look absolutely different than any other Louis Vuitton bag from handle to base. Another different feature to the handbag is that the hardware is silver. Most Louis Vuitton handbags have golen hardware. The silver hardware is just another reason of why this handbag looks so unique and gorgeous.

I’m loving the fact that the Louis Vuitton Epi Speedy 30 doesn’t not have a super high price. The Epi Speedy 30 is reasonably priced at $1,050, yes it’s still a lot but for a different Speedy “look” it’s not that bad. The only equivalent to a Black Epi Speey I can think of is the newly Speedy Cube, which as most of you know retails at about $3,000. I think the Epi Speedy 30 is just as pretty as the Speedy cube, and has a way better price! If you are not in love with the Epi Speedy in black, have no fear it also comes in Cassis, Grenade, Ivoire and Red.

Marshalls Shoe MegaShop Does it Again!

Companies spend so much on advertising and marketing… I love it when they do it well. This time last year I posted about a fabulous truck I saw on the DC streets – Marshalls filled a glass box with tons of covetable shoes. I know it stopped me in my tracks and had me look up the address of my nearest Marshalls location…

Thursday as I was heading home from my job in DC I experienced another brilliant campaign for Marshalls Shoe MegaShop! A giant red stiletto car, and a bunch of cute guys with fab shoes on silver platters! They were all over Connecticut Avenue at every intersection passing out cards where one could win a shoe wardrobe from Marshalls. Brilliant contest cards where you have to visit your closest location to see if you have won.

I didn’t win a shoe wardrobe, but I was impressed with the shoe collection in their MegaShop. The perfect shoe for fall – a pointy-toed black patent high-heel pump was available from popular brands like BCBGirls for far less than department stores. Amazing riding boots from Coach, oxford booties from Nine West, round-toe flats from Aerosoles and more were there at reasonable prices (and with plenty of sizes available!). If I was currently plagued with swollen pregnant feet, I would have been grabbing boxes left and right!

It’s awesome to see a company not only get their marketing right, but also their product. I commend Marshalls for a job well done – and an awesome place to find current footwear styles and hot brands for less!
