Ricki Lake Lost 140 Pounds: Fresh Dining Keeps Her Trim (Photos)

Ricki Lake is an actress and tabloid talk show host who is best known for her long running Ricki Lake Show and a recurring role on King of Queens. She made some significant life style changes in early 2007 and has lost 140 pounds ‘the old fashioned way‘. She once tipped the scales at 270 pounds and still can’t believe that she was ever overweight now that she has become accustomed to her new form.

The 40 year old mother of two sons, credits her daily delivery of prepared meals from Fresh Dining. The organic fare satisfies her and keeps her on track but she does worry that something could throw her off balance. She stays active and is satisfied with her current weight but does admit that she is guilty of wanting to lose more. Not immune to the pressures of staying thin, she said, “According to Hollywood standards, I’m not a thin girl, I’m a normal girl.”

The holiday season can pose problems for many people who suddenly lose their resolve and succumb to full blown grazing. She weighed in on the dilemma by saying, “I will be really conscious because I have this book coming out and I want to look great. I don’t need to lose any more weight but I don’t want to go backwards. So I’m not going to pig out this Christmas.”

We checked out the website and discovered that Fresh Dining, located in Southern California, was founded in 2005 and offers five plans: Fresh Dining, Fresh Lite, Healthy Lifestyle, Fresh Mommy and Whole Family.

I figure if you have about 200 hours of programming on television each week that maybe you should get the top spot. Sure, Dick Wolf probably has a billion dollars but this is the top of random photos so that is priceless. OK, not really, but maybe his assistant reads the site.

It’s Adrien Brody so that should be enough, but I think he’s wearing velvet. Automatically gets you in now.

Etta James should have probably got the top spot, but unfortunately she chose to stand next to Beyonce. All of you loved Baz Luhrman so much that I put him in again. This time with Valentino. When I first saw this photo of Blake Lively I missed the fact she was wearing the belt. At first I thought she had given up Gossip Girl and decided she was going to star in a remake of VIP. In my opinion, it is still too soon for the comeback. A record and tour and promotion seems to be a bit much right now in her recovery. The new dad certainly can smirk huh? Why I ought to… The only time I feel healthy is when I go to Jamba Juice. Glad David Beckham and I have something in common. Of course the drink I get there has about 5,000 calories, but it has fruit in it somewhere so I feel good about it. Shape does their monthly tribute to airbrushing. This time with Debra Messing. I’m not even sure her husband would recognize her in this photo. Add to my drinking list, one night of bombed to the gills drunkeness with Fran and Rosie. Hugh Jackman. Sorry about Nicole. How about Hugh with his wife instead? Harvey Keitel on the set of Life On Mars. Michael Imperioli also on the set. Wait. I know, I know. It actually looks as if Jessica Alba is trying to act. Didn’t even recognize Jane Fonda. I prefer to actually lift the seat up, but have been known to forget so I can empathize with Joey Fatone. Glad to see Kelsey Grammer doing better. Lordi - New York Miley’s not pregnant right? Naomi Watts is though and I really like this photo. Olivia Newton John at the Australia premiere in New York. Makes sense. First time appearance for Paul Blackthorne. I think. Maybe not. Damn there are too many actors. I can’t remember. “Great, now I have something that matches my blue balls after being with Camilla so long.” “Ummm. I’m assuming you all are in uniform right?” Been awhile since I had Padma Lakshmi in the photos. Drink away Rachael Ray. Drink away. I wonder how many it takes to get her through a public event. Not quite as many as if she had to stand next to Stephen Baldwin all night. You know what though? Let me say this. When he and Corbin Bernsen were on Celebrity Mole together, it was funny as hell. The Dirty Awards in Atlanta. Wow, who would have thunk something like this would have happened? It’s an awards show. It’s a piece of metal. Who gives a crap if you get one or not. Although, I think it would be nice if at The Golden Globes some year people got pepper sprayed. I guarantee more people would watch the show from then on.

Haircut!

I think it was only last week that I wrote about how as tempted as I was to cut my hair short I wasn't going to do it. It's funny because I've been short-haired for most of my life--it's only in the last two years that I've really let it grow out. And once I did I couldn't imagine cutting it short again. It was so nice to be able to wear it long one day, and in granny braids the next . . . I couldn't imagine getting bored of it, but I did.

Over the last couple of months I've watched some of my favorite bloggers cut off their long hair, and at first I couldn't understand why anyone would want to cut their hair short after being so used to long, pretty hair. But then I saw these girls with their short haircuts looking more adorable than ever (I'm talking about you, Thumbelina, Jennine,Elinkan, and Ranna! And more recently, Rachael and Loou). Their haircuts weren't supershort--certainly not boy-short (something I could never, ever pull off). And really not so drastic a change from their long hairstyles. But still short, and I was afraid to go short.

I was never really all that serious about cutting my hair, as much as I was tempted to, and I think that what really sent me over the edge was styling that photoshoot, styling two lovely models who both had short hair. And of course seeing how much cuter they looked in my clothes than I did, which I suppose had as much to do with their model genes and bone structure as it did with the length of their hair, but it was nice to see that short-haired girls could pull off the sort of outfits I wore on a regular basis.

So yesterday I spent the day at the thrift stores, and I thought about cutting my hair all day. I schemed it out--I imagined how I wanted to cut it (kind of a Greta Garbo long bob with bangs), the accessories I could wear in it, what sort of clothes I could get away with with short hair. And once I got home I headed to the mirror and chopped it all off myself. I'm still getting used to it but I don't regret it . . . yet.

Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz Welcome a Son: Bronx Mowgli

Ashlee Simpson Wentz, 24, gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday night, November 20th at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She and her 29 year old husband Pete Wentz, Fall Out Boys bassist, have named their son Bronx Mowgli Wentz. The baby weighed in at seven pounds and 11 ounces and is 20-1/2 inches long.

Mowgli was the most prominent and memorable fictional character to appear in Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book series.

A rep for the couple released the following statement: Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wished!”

The Fall Out Boys are set to release their third album, Folie A Deux on December 16.

If you've ever brought your toddler to the office, you know that there are bound to be moments where you can do nothing more than hold your breath and hope for the best. Sherri Shepherdrecently endured just such a moment at The View, with her son Jeffrey Charles, 3 ½. As Sherri's boss Barbara Walterspointed out Sherri's co-hosts on a poster, quizzing the tot as to their identities, Jeffrey correctly answered each and every time. Then the pivotal moment arrived when Barbara pointed to her own picture. "I'm thinking, 'Oh my gosh!'" Sherri, 41, recalled during a Tuesday appearance on The Rachael Ray Show. "And he goes, 'Barbara and The View!'"

"I went 'job security!' And then he grabs Barbara and gave her a hug and kisses her on the lips and laughed at everything she said. And I was like, 'Yeah, baby. That's my son."

Joking that Jeffrey is "so into politics" and that she's "got him trained," Sherri said that she takes the subway to work every day with her son -- and she isn't above using baby gear to secure a seat. "I'm so New York now, I walk down the stairs with my stroller and I get on the train and I'll go, 'Nobody's going to let me sit down? You see me with my baby! And I carried that stroller down all those damn stairs,'" Sherri laughed. "We get all kinds of attention, me and that kid."

Jeffrey is Sherri's son with estranged husband Jeff Tarpley.
