Sarah Palin has so much star power she is eclipsing Barack Obama’s celebrity spotlight. Women want change, and Sarah is the majority’s voice. In new polls out today, 58% of voters view Palin favorably, which is up from 52% less than a week ago. Even more surprising this morning is the fact that Obama and John McCain are each viewed favorably by 57% of voters, but Palin is viewed favorably by 58%, which is better than both Presidential candidates. Joe Biden is viewed favorably by 48%.

Not surprisingly, fifty-one percent (51%) of Americans believe that most biased reporters are trying to hurt Palin’s campaign. Martin Luther King, Jr. said correctly, don’t judge a person by the color of their skin, or gender, but by the content of their character. Palin doesn’t have associations with criminals, America hating racists, or terrorists, but Obama does. Palin has family issues that are shared by most of America, and she’s managing those issues effectively, which is more than most of us can hope for.

The Palin Vice President pick has also improved perceptions of John McCain. A week ago, just before he introduced his running mate, just 42% of Republicans had a Very Favorable opinion of their party’s nominee. That figure jumped to 54% by this Friday morning. Among unaffiliated voters, favorable opinions of McCain have increased by eleven percentage points in a week-from 54% before the Palin announcement to 65% today.

It seems everyone, including Obama, are comparing Obama and Palin’s experience to be President, when she is only running as the Vice Presidential candidate, and he is running for the Presidential spot. It seems, McCain has risen above both as most qualified, and Palin has captured more attention from those in America who want her brand of change.

John McCain spoke before a packed house at the X in St. Paul on Thursday evening.   The presidential candidate was the last to hit the stage at the Republican National Convention and spoke for nearly an hour, promising to shake up Washington.  Calling himself a fighter and a maverick,  he distanced himself from Bush by calling for change and claiming “we need to change the way government does almost everything.”

McCain’s VP pick, Sarah Palin, delivered a dynamic speech on Wednesday evening that reportedly hit the mark.  Check out Palin’s full speech here.

The Material Girl hitmaker, 50, is set to perform part of her Sticky & Sweet world tour in London next Thursday; and so are the Jonas Brothers - which include Nick, Joe and Kevin.

And Lourdes has her heart set on seeing the famous siblings at the Hammersmith Apollo, so will have to forgo seeing her superstar mom on-stage.

Sarah Palin attracted 37.2 million viewers when she gave her acceptance speech, and she’s only running as the Vice Presidential candidate with John McCain running as Presidential candidate. Barack Obama attracted 38.4 million viewers for his acceptance speech. There was one major difference however, the bias media broadcast Obama’s speech on 10 stations, while only 6 stations broadcast Palin’s speech, which means Palin had more viewers with fewer stations than Obama despite his stage built by the Britney Spears stage team.

Neilsen said that nearly 2 million more women than men watched Palin’s speech. Far more women are interested in Palin than they were Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden, barely even gets a mention. No one cares about Joe. It’s all about Palin.

Black men were given the vote a half-century before women of any race were allowed to mark a ballot, and generally have ascended to positions of power, from the military to the boardroom, before any women.

In this election, who should we put in the White House first, a black man, or a woman?

This week's challenge was enough to make Kenley cry… a couple of times. Maybe they aren't letting these kids get enough sleep!
 
Diane Von Furstenberg, icon and staple wrap dress creator, stepped in as both the challenge deliverer and a guest judge. The designers were tasked with creating a look inspired by her line, which is in turn inspired by the woman who happens to be a 30s/40s, globe-trotting (from Berlin to Shanghai) sophisticate spy. This seemed tailor-made for Kenley (who wept with adoration when she met DVF).

 
Within what seemed like minutes, Terri had a pair of tweed pants done. Seriously, is she some kind of warp-speed machine?  Kenley got to work on an Asian inspired floral shift and got poor reviews from her competitors. We heartily disagreed - we like what we see. We we undecided and leaning toward a thumbs down on Korto's dizzy black and white striped dress. Then we saw token straight guy Joe's concoction and our jaws dropped. Joe, Joe, Joe - are you TRYING to get yourself eliminated?  Pink snakeskin-y blouse with a big hole in the back?  Even brighter pink cumberbund?  Stop the insanity!
 
This week's runway was pretty dramatic… Leanne (who had immunity and could have just relaxed) knocked it so far out of the park it will never be seen again. Her dress was elegant, impeccably made, surprising, beautiful, fit in well with the lookbook… I could go on and on. Again I have to question though—how can things this glam come from such a frumpy gal? She needs a makeover to match her designs.
 
Now for the bad and the ugly…
While we liked Kenley's dress a lot, we decidedly did not like her attitude.  Do NOT talk back to the judges! Kenley, didn't you watch last week's episode??  She was very lucky there were some bad designs on that runway.
 
Blayne, doll face… you are losing your tan and maybe with it your mind. Looking like an extra from Olivia Newton John's "Let's Get Physical" video, Blayne presented the judges with pantaloons. Big poufy pantaloons. And he made it THROUGH! Was not even in the bottom 3. This was our first shock of the evening and would not be our last.
 
Stella, who I have come to adore because she is a crazy character, showed an odd pants/vest/cape ensemble that DVF said reminded her of Dracula and Michael Kors said was "more Transylvania than Shanghai."
 
Token Straight Joe's outfit was an out-and-out disaster. It was mismatched, poorly made (DVF said it looked "homemade," yikes!), unflattering, and weird. There was no question who was getting auf-ed this week. Bye bye straight guy.
 
Oh how wrong we were. We were shocked, appalled, dumbstruck… Joe lives to design another day! Instead it was biker-chic, leathah-obsessed Stella who went home. And she was gracious as she said her goodbyes. I for one will miss her. *sniff*

While shopping for vacation clothes, my husband and I passed a display of bathing suits. It had been at least ten years and twenty pounds since I had even considered buying a bath ing suit, so sought my husband's advice.

'What do you think?' I asked. 'Should I get a bikini or an all-in-one?'

'Better get a bikini,' he replied. 'You'd never get it all in one.'

He's still in the INTENSIVE CARE UNIT.

The Republicans can't hog all the controversy spotlight!

The Washington Post reports that Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden has some drama going on in his family.

His brother, James, and son, Hunter, are being sued by a former business partner named Anthony Lotito Jr. for defrauding him and an investor of millions of dollars in a hedge fund deal that went sour, according to court records.

James and Hunter Biden have counterattacked and say that Lotito defrauded them by misrepresenting his experience in the hedge fund industry and recommending that they hire a lawyer with felony convictions.

The fighting between the Bidens and Lotito has been going on in a NY courtroom since November 2007.

Lotito also alleges that Uncle James persuaded him to add an inexperienced Hunter Biden to the team for politics sake. Hunter, who was working as a D.C. lobbyist, was in need of a career change because the Bidens supposedly thought it would 'hurt' Joe Biden's presidential bid at the time to have a lobbyist son.

In an affidavit, Hunter swore his father had nothing to do with the deal and that it is Lotito who swindled the Bidens.

When contacted for comment, the Obama-Biden campaign referred the Post to the lawyer repping the accused Bidens.

He said:

"This lawsuit has nothing to do with Joe Biden, and there is absolutely no truth to those allegations. It is a business dispute between former partners. The suit is baseless."

This 'drama' is a yawner compared to the crazy shiz going down with the Republican's Palin!

But it's still fun.

Joining controversial Girls Gone Wild boss Joe Francis on the big business challenge will be Kim Kardashian's sister Khloe.

Both minor celebrities spent time in jail in 2008 - Francis ended a 12-month stint behind bars on federal tax evasion charges in March (08) and Kardashian spent three hours in prison in June (08) for a probation violation.
