As the summertime winds to a close, Nicole Richie was spotted taking advantage of the fine weather as she spent a little quality time with Joel Madden on Friday afternoon (September 5).

The cute couple stopped to get frozen yogurt and soda at a deli in the Beverly Glen Country Mart, with Nicole sporting a beanie, short jean cut-offs, a grey t-shirt and a pair of classic aviator sunglasses.

Consider this as a preview on Victoria’s new dresses line. My favorite is the first one. I like the shape of the dress and the colors and it looks so much like Vic’s style.

The prices are as I expected pretty high between $600-$1000.

A couple of months ago, Jonathan Saunders dropped a collection of a t-shirts over at Topshop.

They were semi-cute. They were tributes to all of his previous ready-to-wear collections. They were strange because we were hoping for a cute streamlined ombre dress that costs a fraction of the price of Saunders coveted piece.

But our dreams of beautifully made duds with cheap prices by Jonathan Saunders aren't dead just yet: this month the proud Irish man will be serving up a very affordable collection for everyone's favorite mass retailer, Target.

The mini line consists of whimsical ombre dresses, body-hugging knits, and slew of funky cool tunics.

All styles will be available at Target and online in October.

I have a couple of friends who are diabetic, and they occasionally bemoan the fact that they can’t eat much chocolate, largely because of the sugar content. Products designed specifically for diabetics tend to contain maltitol, which doesn’t taste QUITE the same as sucrose, and can have a nasty laxative effect if consumed in any quantity. I discovered this to my surprise the first time I tried sugar free sweets in any quantity, and it wasn’t pleasant, so we won’t go there!
So I designed this recipe for them, particularly for my friend Nic, (because of the wonderful theatrical shudder of horror she does when talking about sugar free chocolate), and for all you other diabetics out there who can’t stand so called “sugar free” products. Do bear in mind that this recipe still contains some sucrose, and is high in fat, so you will still need to be disciplined about how many you eat.
It is very important that you buy the right chocolate for this recipe, don’t try to save yourself some pennies and buy cheap dark chocolate, as it will contain a lot less cocoa and a LOT more sugar, which defeats the whole object of the exercise.
I have used 85% cocoa chocolate (this means that overall, the total mass of cocoa butter and cocoa powder in the chocolate adds up to 85% of the total weight of the bar. The other 15% will mostly be sugar, with a little vanilla added usually for flavour, and a small amount of soya lecithin added as an emulsifier). I added clove powder because it adds a subtle spicy roundness to the chocolate flavour, which I like. If you fancy a different spice, then ginger or cardamom would work well instead, or a few drops of pure orange or peppermint oil would also work well.
Bear in mind as well that I have added a little bit of fructose to the coating mixture to take the bitter edge off the cocoa. Fructose is a much more suitable sweetener for people with diabetes than sucrose, since it does not cause an insulin response, but like all sugars there are health concerns if it is consumed in large amounts, so don’t change the quantities in the recipe.
These truffles have a very intense chocolate flavour, and are less sweet than most confectionery, so a single truffle will probably go a long way. Relax and savour, don’t gobble them!
Extra Dark Truffles with Clove
INGREDIENTS:
100g (3.5 oz) 85% cocoa chocolate
80ml (2.7 fl. oz) double cream
¼ tsp powdered clove
4 tsps Cocoa powder
1 tsp Fructose
METHOD:
To melt the chocolate, cut or break it into small pieces and place in a double boiler, or a heatproof bowl over a saucepan that is just big enough to support it round the edges. Put some water in the base of your double boiler or saucepan (but not enough for it to touch the base of the bowl which the chocolate is held in), Heat the water to a very gentle simmer, and stir occasionally while melting. Make sure that the water in the base of your double boiler does not boil dry. Also, be sure not to let any water come into contact with the chocolate, as it will “seize”, that is, turn into a thick paste with a strange texture, which is completely unusable. Once the chocolate is completely melted, set it aside to cool a little for a few minutes.
Fold the cooled chocolate gently into the double cream and clove powder and put into the fridge to cool, taking it out for a stir every 10-15 minute intervals, until it is of such a consistency that you can mould it in your hands.
Put the cocoa and fructose together into a small airtight container, and shake well. Sift the resulting mixture onto a plate.
Then mould the truffle mixture into spheres about 1 inch across, rolling them between your palms, and then roll each in the cocoa mixture, and tap the excess away on the edge of the plate when it is completely coated.
The truffles should be stored an airtight container in the fridge, and should be eaten within a week.
Makes about 24 truffles. The entire batch contains 94g fat, and 990 kcal, so that works out at around 41 calories/4g fat per truffle. The total cost of the ingredients was £2.30.

I say put this on PPV. I think it would be an awesome brawl, probably better than most of the crappy boxing matches as of late. Two divas, a cage, lots of mud and a couple of midgets (hey, it would make it way cooler with midgets, so lay off). Anyways, this all got started because Christina was just confirmed by the VMA’s and apparently, the rumor is going around that MTV tried to keep Britney’s signing a secret until Christina signed. Hmmmm….

“I’m very excited,” said Christina about the news, which was announced at a press conference at Paramount Studios in L.A. Refering to her 8-month-old son Max Liron, Xtina said, “This will be his first time watching me perform on television, but only for a little while because he’s not really allowed to watch television yet. I’ll make an exception for the VMAs.”

As a first time dad, country singer Keith Urban, 40, has no complaints when it comes to taking care of his 8-week-old daughter Sunday Rose. In fact, when Keith's wife, actress Nicole Kidman, is at work, Keith -- who calls fatherhood simply "beautiful" -- takes full advantage of his downtime and soaks up every chance he gets with his baby girl.

"When my wife's working and I've got time off, I'm just Mr. Mom during the day, taking care of the little girl."

Sunday came at a very busy time for the family! With Keith juggling his touring schedule in the United States, Nicole and Sunday have made London their temporary home as the 40-year-old actress rehearses for her upcoming role in the movie musical Nine. However, according to Keith, this temporary arrangement is just that -- temporary! As of next year, the couple have already started planning for Nicole and Sunday to join Keith on the road as Keith says they are hoping to find a balance between "touring with being at home." Says Keith, "It's good to have them out on the road...so we're not apart very much."

The actress and her model husband Bruce Weyman welcomed little Harper Edward Weyman into their family on Wednesday (03Sep08) night at a Los Angeles hospital.

The newborn weighed in at nine pounds, five ounces (4.22 kilograms), reports People.com.

A spokesperson for Allen says, "Mother, father and baby are doing well."

The couple wed in Italy in 2006.

The 28-year-old beauty called off her wedding to Titanic star Zane in April (08), after deciding she wasn't ready for marriage.

The couple reunited soon after but split for good this summer (08).

But Brook has now found happiness with Cipriani, 20, according to British newspaper The Sun.

A follow-up to the story we posted a couple of days ago!

"I KISSED A GIRL AND I LIKED IT AND THEN I WENT TO HELL," a church sign in Ohio read for twenty-four hours before it was removed.

In case you haven't heard the song at almost every club in Hollywood, it's a reference to Katy Perry's chart-topping single, I Kissed A Girl, and the sizzling video that accompanies it.

Pastor David Allison of Havens Corners Church claims he didn't put the sign up to draw attention to the church but as a warning to teenagers who might be influenced by the video, which he calls "lewd and suggestive." He says he thought the message would be a gentle reminder that the Bible denounces homosexuality.

But, his message was mostly misunderstood and after receiving confused e-mails and phone calls, the sign was removed on Thursday.

The folks in Blacklick, Ohio, just aren't that hip!

Kim Welter of Equality Ohio found the sign "jaw-dropping" and that while she maintains that the church has the right to broadcast their opinion on a reader board, she adds that the GLBT community will find more than 300 welcoming churches in Ohio.

Pastor Allison claims that his church welcomes the GLBT also but still believes it's a sin - so just remember to bring your brimstone-flavored ChapStick!
