A great heap of drama!

Barely minutes into the season premiere, housemates Lauren Conrad, Lo Bosworth and Audrina Patridge fell into a heated catfight during a birthday party that L.C. and Lo "lovingly" threw for their dark-haired roomie.

"I feel that I don't click with you," Audrina told Lo. "We'll never be friends." But though she's accused Lo of being "super-bitchy," is Audrina's problem merely a case of petty jealousy?

Insiders say Audrina is throwing a fit because she's no longer Lauren's number one sidekick on the show. That spot has been filled by Lo – Lauren's BFF from Laguna Beach. Sources tell OK! the switch makes sense.

"Lo and LC have grown up together," a source close to the girls says. "They have a history Audrina will never have."

As a result, Audrina, 23, has been chilly towards Lo, 21, and growing distant with Lauren, 22. "Audrina got jealous and felt herself being pushed out," an LC insider says. "She just gave up on the friendship."

Another friend of the trio confirms, "She [Audrina] was in this for the fame. She always got along best with Heidi Montag. She switched and became Lauren's best friend when they needed someone to move in with her."

For years, Atlantic City has been trying to convince fresh faces to swill and swing in New Jersey. Now Matthew Abramcyk and Paul Sevigny, the owners of Manhattan’s Beatrice Inn, are literally bringing the party people with them: the boys have been busing friends and family for weekend stays at the Chelsea Hotel. Their new establishment — which used to be a Holiday Inn and Howard Johnson — is being touted as Atlantic City’s first non-casino hotel. The space was designed by the developer Curtis Bashaw, considered the Andre Balazs of the Jersey Shore; the retro rooms (stocked with sex supplies from Kiki de Montparnasse) offer an alternative to the kitschy bling of many other Atlantic City establishments.

The hotel’s real draw, however, is the social scene. Abramcyk and Sevigny have made sure the hotel’s fifth-floor club has a revolving door of New York D.J.’s and a stream of well-dressed “It kids” to keep the party pumping and the locals gawking. Last weekend, Sevigny’s sister Chloe even made an appearance, flying in on the seaplane from New York. “I grew up on the Jersey Shore, and of course I am here to support my brother,” she explained on the smoking balcony. “The vibe at the Chelsea is totally South Beach, with good food and good music. I mean, who wouldn’t like it?” Paul excitedly explained that the spa (opening in October) is going to be more lounge than Zen and that the concert series is going to blow our minds. They've been there about a year and I've yet to visit them. But I'm planning a trip for Christmas and agreed to go when my Dad assured me it'll be warm enough in mid-December for my sister and I to lie on a beach/by the pool for almost two weeks.

My mom sent me a link to some bathing suits she'd recommend for the trip. I picked my favorite - it's on the left.

She's joking of course - not only would I never wear it, she'd never let me - but I thought you guys might enjoy a peek into something fashion-y and not New York centric. And the best part is that the model's actually incredibly gorgeous. Why bother using such an attractive woman if you're just going to cover her up? You'd think a 1920's Gatsby-esque suit would suffice.

Sometimes, in the midst of all our Would You Wear crop tops/ripped tights/bras as shirts, I forget about all of the international states of "fashion" and it takes a reality check from my Californian-living-overseas Mom to remind me that not everyone runs around half naked.

Yes, this is totally random, but I just had to share these suits with someone, and I knew only you guys would care.

Matt Hoyle’s subject is often water and the people who swim in it. He hasn’t exactly followed the lead of Martin Munkácsi, the Hungarian master whose able-bodied vacationers glistened on the beach, often lounging under glamorous striped accessories or jumping into petite waves. Hoyle’s people are more of the Olympic persuasion, not letting the aesthetic interfere with their performance. Here, it seems Hoyle has infiltrated this tubby polar bear’s dreams. After the jump, see Penelope, a cracked-lip swimmer, up close and personal. Hoyle's work is on view in a group show until Saturday at Point of View Gallery.
