Are you...

I must begin by explaining to you that my opinions on the movie can be taken as biased since I am absolutely and irrevocably in love with the actors and the book. * Long sentence, deep breath!*

Are you ready? I thought that the movie was an awesome introduction to the Twilight Saga. Most critiques argue that it was too slow in the begininng and that there were too many periods of awkward silence. Well, I thought that the whole ” awkward silence” projected a realistic attitude towards the knowledge that the guy Bella was crushing on was a vampire and so was his family.

*Deep…Breath*

I thought all the actors did a great job. Yet, Robert Pattinson NEEDS to practice how to talk like an American. There were some slip ups ( when he was talking to Rosalie in the hospital) where I could determine his british accent. Now, I understand that it must be hard for him to train his speech but if Ed Westwick could do it and Hugh Laurie could do it, then I am damn sure Robert can as well.

Many of you are also agaisnt the idea that Kristin Stewart played Isabella Swan. You need to MOVE ON. She did a very good job…probably because she has many attributes as Bella. And I don’t know why everyone wanted Amber Sabine or other nimwits to play Bella…they fail.

Anyone got the hots for Jasper Hale? Played by Jackson Rathbone..I thought he looked pretty amazing. Almost a James Franco. Oh and Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen did a magnificent job with her perky self. But enough with the analysis of the characters.

How hot was that kiss that Edward planted on Bella?! Except for the fact she was wearing underwear and not her “holey t-shirt” ( If you read the book, you’d know what I am speaking of.) I liked the relationship that Bella and Charlie had on-screen. I could feel how tense everything was…

I don’t want to give much away but the music, baseball game, fighting scenes were EPIC. And I DO RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO EVERYONE. Mostly women! This is NOT A MANLY MOVIE- unless you find yourself obsessed with Bella or Edward!

Enjoy! I sure as hell did.

(December 2007, "A unique twist on your traditional holiday card.") I made up a number of personalized CDs for family and friends and they were a huge hit. Given the time of year, I thought it was worth posting about them again.

I can't tell you guys how many compliments and how excited people were to receive these CDs in the mail! You pick your playlist and burn your own CD, but get the designs and playlist printed from Ringo Baby. It's something different and guaranteed people will love them.

Well Fashion Indie are big supporters of Funday Friday, and that is exactly what I had today (despite the numerous efforts by Daniel Saynt to rain on my parade). Now normally I wouldn’t talk about my daily happenings (mostly because you would realize the awesome life I pretend to live and be jealous), but when I found this picture I knew it was an omen from a higher power to tell the tale of my day’s voyage.

The day started as any normally does, dragging my exhausted carcass out of my bed and into a piping hot shower. Breakfast was standard (oatmeal and a glass of water gross!), and the trip to work was boring and cold. A quick wake up was in order before Daniel and Becks got to the office, so grabbed a Guru and poured it all over my face in the same manor a college football team would do if they won some form of championship.

All fueled and ready to go I got to blogging as fast as possible throwing up stories left and right, and working on February’s Fashion Indie Week (it’s going to be AMAZING!). I had fun re-reading the interview I did with Chris from I Heard They Eat Cigarettes (I love working with new designers, they are always so nice!).

Then the most exciting part of my day came! Our new Fashion Indie mascot dropped by for a visit. Her name is Kimmy Nibbler, she is the squirrel who lives on our balcony. She was hanging out on our screen (more pictures when we get them uploaded), so I decided to make friends and offer her some pistachios…She ran in terror and Daniel laughed at me (strike #1).

Back to work, lots of stories in such little time. As the rest of the ultra supportive Fashion Indie crew took Daniel’s side in laughing at my attempt to make a friend (strike #2), I came across this cool little DIY laptop stand made of cardboard.

In an attempt to regain my superiority in the office I grabbed some left over cardboard and got to work on my new toy. Apparently, all the logical utensils for proper office tasks don’t apply here at Fashion Indie, including scissors. I found myself risking my blogging (and thumb war) career by hacking away at the cardboard with Daniel’s switchblade…FAIL!

Finally my new toy was complete, and as I hoisted my Mac up onto the stand, it crumbled into shambles. Daniel laughed, and I considered quitting Fashion Indie and trying my luck at the failing Conde Nast.

Which brings me to now. Daniel has since given me a near brain aneurysm due to my anger and frustration (and so called “dumb” ideas), and the thought of round housing him Chuck Norris style seems quite refreshing.

So as I sit alone under my archway of year-round Christmas lights, I leave you with this epic tale of an average Friday in the life of Corey Moran. Enjoy your weekend, and for all of you traveling home for the holidays this weekend, have a safe trip.

I have been having major problems lately with my jeans. They just don't seem to fit right. They are either falling down, or they are loose in the back and I am adjusting them all day. When I wear a long shirt over my jeans, putting a fun or funky belt on looks silly and bulky. So I was on a quest to find a flat, invisible, teeny belt that I could wear under my longer shirts that would help to keep my pants up and looking good.

And I found the isABelt . This is EXACTLY what I needed. The isABelt is a very thin, clear, stretchy, flexible belt that solves all of my belt/jeans issues. By simply wearing the isABelt under my favorite shirts, my jeans no longer fall down or slip at all!

For those of you losing your baby weight, the isABelt is an amazing product. If you start dropping pounds and your pants start to get loose, the isABelt will be a "nip and a tuck" for your pants, saving you money on tailoring or buying new sizes when you have not yet achieved your goal weight.

Available in small, medium, large and plus, any woman can benefit from this awesome belt. Goodbye back gap! Goodbye belt bulk! And Goodbye slippage! I am now wearing my isABelt all the time and love it!

Want to try one too? Leave us a comment on why you need an isABelt and you will be entered to win one of your own. Please remember to leave us your email address so we can contact you should you win. The winner will be able to choose the isABelt of their choice and size. Good luck!

Axl Rose's thirteen-years-in-the-making opus Chinese Democracy finally leaked on Tuesday, and it's been in constant rotation on our iTunes since then. What do we think? Well, we tend to agree with critics like Chuck Klosterman and Rolling Stone's David Fricke, who didn't really specify anything they didn't like about the album but still docked it a couple of points on their rating scales — it's awesome but not quite perfect. (Evidently the Times' Jon Pareles wouldn't have been satisfied if angels had come down from Heaven and played the guitar solo from "Rocket Queen" in his living room — he calls it "a shipwreck, capsized by pretensions and top-heavy production.") So what's wrong with it? How could Axl have made it better? Our suggestions, after the jump.

1. "Chinese Democracy"
We're already off on the wrong foot: Those dolphin sounds in the intro clearly should've been double-tracked.

2. "Shackler's Revenge"
The three wailing guitar solos are certainly a good start, but this song is simply begging for seven or eight more.

3. "Better"
4. "Street of Dreams"
We understand that these are supposed to be the radio singles, but how come Chinese Democracy doesn't have any epic-length "November Rain"–ish mini-operas? It would've been as simple as adding a French-horn coda and a synthesizer breakdown, and making Buckethead jump through a wedding cake.

5. "If the World"
With the wah-wah pedals, drum machines, classical guitars, orchestra, and jazz piano, this track is already pretty overstuffed — but how about a horn section, bagpipes, and some Indian percussion?

6. "There Was a Time"
Wow, this is more like it! We don't think we can even name an instrument that isn't in this arrangement. But, Axl — is that choir synthesized? Appalling.

7. "Catcher in the Rye"
This piano ballad is our favorite track so far, but, as has already been noted, it's not so dissimilar from other GNR favorites like "Yesterdays" or "Estranged." You know what would really spice things up? A xenophobic rant.

8. "Scraped"
9. "Riad N' the Bedouins"
These two songs were probably what people were afraid of when they heard "Oh My God" back in 1999 and thought Guns N' Roses had gone industrial metal. We might've swapped out the pair for a nice 35-minute sound collage.

10. "Sorry"
Why aren't there aren't any swear words on this album? This mournful ballad certainly could use a few.

11. "I.R.S.
Chinese Democracy's token "paranoid Axl" song. But wasn't it more fun when he used to call out his critics by name? If he'd done a standard LexisNexis search, he might've realized that, over these past couple of years, some wisecracking writers have been making light of his artistic process.

12. "Madagascar"
Is it just us, or would this song's last chorus be vastly improved by a boys' choir and the sound of cannon fire on the backbeats? Seems pretty obvious.

13. "This I Love"
Why isn't that harp turned up higher in the mix? If someone risks a back injury to haul their harp all the way from home to your secret, underground recording studio just to play on the two-minute outro of one song, you could at least do him or her the courtesy of making their playing louder than the bass player's on the final master. Harps are heavy, Axl.

14. "Prostitute"
Is this song actually sung to Jesus from the perspective of Mary Magdalene? Wow. That simply cannot be improved on.

How Axl Rose Spent All That Time [NYT]

Alright kiddies I HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE YET. I will tonight around 10Pm EST, so I should have a review by the morning 3PM EST.

However here are a few places who have and this is what they had to say:

Los Angeles Times: LOVED IT.

*Entertainment Weekly: LOVED IT.

Associated Press: HATED IT.

Emanuel Levy: HATED IT. ( But recommends it to all women- hmm? How does that work?)

Orlando Sentinel: So-so.

Variety: HATED IT.

Some of you will be upset at what has been written, however do not let the negative reviews discourage you from viewing the film. Also, keep in mind that those who write reviews are not teenagers and they are probably people experiencing their mid-life-crisis so they do not understand the beauty of romance. Some of them haven’t even flicked through the pages of the novel. *Gasp*

*I enjoyed reading Owen Gleiberman’s review. He basically put everything into perspective and there is a sense that he HAS read the book due to his mentioning of the references Meyer placed in the book- Heathcliff, Romeo ect…

But do not fret awesome die-hard Edward Cullen fans, go see the movie- enjoy it and read about the not-so-nice or nice things I’ll have to say about it by tomorrow morning.

Divorce can be incredibly brutal. If you don’t play your cards right, then you might lose a big pot of gold.

Yet, that wasn’t the case for Guy Ritchie. To him, the big pot of gold was a metaphor for just being free from Madonna. He didn’t care about the money, he didn’t care about a lot of the things that were offered to him.

He just needed to seperate from the bitch. Neither him nor Madonna were present at court, which is awesome for them. I’m def. happy that they both can now live at peace from the press. And Madonna can have all the A-rod she wants.

Cheating, manipulating whore.
