Fantastic Angelina Jolie interview in Philippine Daily Inquirer

In my previous entry about Angelina Jolie’s interview with Germany’s Vanity Fair, several people left comments mentioning that we should all check out the Philippine Daily Inquirer which is a reputable news source (despite its unfortunate similar name to the Enquirer!).

Reader Barb was kind enough to send me a direct link to the interview. Apparently the reporter, Ruben V. Nepales, is well known for doing as little editing as possible to allow the real “voice” come through. I really enjoyed reading the interview and wanted to share it.

They cut right to the chase and talked about life with twins right off the bat:

Tell us more about the twins.

Knox and Viv are the sweetest little things - to see them together is just something else. They lie down next to each other a lot. They respond to each other - more so now. They’re starting to smile a lot. It’s funny that Knox looks like Brad and Viv looks a bit like me. They’re good babies. We’re very lucky. The trick in having six is, once you pass three or four, it gets so crazy, anyway, that there’s just more chaos - and it’s okay.

So, you’re not done yet?

No.

Ahhh! Not done yet! More Jolie-Pitt babies in the future!

I think one of my favorite parts was when she was talking about the challenges of filming Changeling and whether she could have survived as a woman in the 1920s and she mentioned:

People have called me a liar or bad. Fortunately, I was raised by a mom who loved me so much and made me comfortable with myself. I’m not a liar. I know I’m a decent person. I can go to bed at night knowing that I’m all right no matter what anybody says about me.

Well, I know how many PittWatch readers cheer that statement on. Clearly Marcheline did a great job of raising Angelina with the kind of self-esteem you really need to survive Hollywood.

There’s also a point where she touches on something that has been discussed at times in our comments, about the fact that some day their kids will read and see some of the horrible things that have been said about Angelina and about Brad Pitt as well:

How do you deal with fabrications printed in some publications?

Somebody told me I was depressed. My life is being with my family. My family is so real, close and happy. I wake up, and I want to make sure everybody’s healthy. I don’t care about anything else. You’ve also known me for a long time. It has been years of people saying things about me, so I do tend to ignore it.

Most people know that most things are completely made up. But, we are worried about the kids getting a hold of the Internet and seeing some stories. It’s hard to explain—and it makes no sense to explain! There’s no good reason for it. We’ll see. I’ll tell you how it goes if I do.

I’m sure they’ll figure out the best way to prepare them. Meanwhile, while I’m sure it will be confusing for them, the kids are the ones who live with Brad and Angelina. I think they’ll be able to grasp the fact that there is a big difference between tabloids and the truth.

I strongly recommend that you check out the full article because it’s just wonderful. The whole interview comes out as though you’re sitting at a table with Angelina herself, just chatting over a coffee.

Angelina Jolie By Brad Pitt For W Magazine November 2008

Everyone’s talking about that. Everywhere I turn my head it’s either Angie’s breastfeeding photos by Brad Pitt for W magazine or the US financial clash. At least I’ve got the choice!

I won’t get financial, we’re Stylefrizz. We love fashion and entertainment. So I’d go for Angelina Jolie and her fifth and sixth children, the twins Knox and Vivienne, her natural children with partner Brad Pitt. It’s not in discrimination that I’m saying the above, it’s because few years ago, W magazine published photos of her, Brad Pitt and five children in a story about domestic bliss in 1963. Prophecy or just marketing? (more pictures after the jump)

W is betting again on the most powerful couple of the world (at least as far as entertainment goes) and for its November 2008 issue make public a set of thirty something “private” photos of the Brangelina household. Photos said to be taken by Brad Pitt (in August 2008, in their residence from France) with her partner breastfeeding the twins. All we’ve got for now is the cover to freely speculate. And the first obvious thing adding an irony tail to the “private” thing is Angelina’s full eye makeup…

The sad thing is that this image covers an art issue. Even if it’s a statement about how celebrity can (and successfully does) replace a model, professionally suited for magazine covers and magazine spreads, Angelina Jolie (breastfeeding) on the cover of W magazine is somewhat misplaced. Yes, we live troubled times and marketing is a mean game (and this issue will most surely be a smashing hit) but it’s undoubtedly offending when it comes to true art. And just because she’s being photographed by Brad Pitt doesn’t make more artsy than Juergen Teller’s blitz burned pictures. Or maybe it’s just me.

Contrary to what it may seem obvious reading these lines, I liked Angelina. Like is an understatement. I had an obsession with her and her troubled ways. As I’ve said it before, that’s no secret to you. I have no measure of Brad Pitt’s artistic sense and (even if his architectural skills could prove me wrong) I think he has not the eye of a professional photographer. By all means, my husband has a passion for photography and to me he’s the world’s greatest photographer! But I’d like to hear you out. Tell me what you think about W’s November story with Angie and Brad. And the kids! (photos tfs, wmagazine)

If you thought you had seen all there was to see of Angelina Jolie, think again.

In a stunningly intimate photo spread in the upcoming issue of W magazine the mom of six gets up and close and personal with private snaps taken by partner Brad Pitt, including one of her breastfeeding on the cover of the mag.

"Angelina posed for Brad in one of the photos while breastfeeding. It's really beautiful and tastefully done," sources who have seen the photos told Life & Style magazine.

Another person who's seen the images says, "The photos are amazing."

PHOTOS: ADOPTED INTO STARDOM
Jolie reveals in Sunday's issue of Parade magazine that she and Pitt have a long road ahead.

"I don't want to spend my life pretending to be somebody else, and I don't want the person next to me to have to pretend ever, because we have a long life ahead of us," Jolie explains. "So you just want to be able to be who you are in every moment, and that's the only way you'll ever be truly happy."

Brad apparently shot the photos in mid-August at Chateau Miraval, the family's home in the South of France.

Lisa Marie Presley Gives Birth to Twins

Lisa Marie Presley,40, gave birth to twin girls on Tuesday, October 7.

The girls, delivered by cesarean section, weighed 5 lbs, 15 oz, and 5 lbs, 2 oz.

Lisa Marie wrote on her MySpace page during her pregnancy that she and husband, Michael Lockwood, 47, were “beyond thrilled and blessed, elated and saturated in happiness.”

The twins are the first children for the couple. Presley has two children, daughter Riley, 19, and Benjamin, 15 with former husband Danny Keough.

Lisa Marie’s father, Elvis Presley, had a twin who died at birth, and her mother, Priscilla Presley, has younger twin brothers.

Naamua Delaney was hired by CNN.com Live as a lead anchor in December 2007. Her show is a live multi-stream video service. The attractive television journalist was born in England and currently resides in New York City.

She anchors news reports and breaking news coverage during the afternoon and evening hours and ‘Now in the News’, a fast-paced hourly web and wireless news update.

The 34 year old graduated from University of London Law School and then traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia on the Student Abroad Program and began working for a local newspaper. Angelina Jolie Featured In The Bible Illuminated

In 2007 in Sweden has been launched a new version of the Bible. The new Bible book titled Bible Illuminated has the purpose of capturing everyone’s attention.

Some smart guy believed people didn’t paied enough attention to this book and just a few were interested in reading it.

So he came up with this idea of transforming the book into something more readable.

And how did that? Well the new book is very modern, has a glossy cover and inside you can see photos with Angelina Jolie, Nelson Mandela, Bono from U2 and Mahatma Ghandi. They were chosen to be in the book because apparently their names are similar to represented goodness and compassion.

Angelina Jolie never wanted to conceive naturally until she met partner Brad Pitt.The 33-year-old actress - who has three adopted children Maddox, Pax and Zahara, two-year-old daughter Shiloh and two-month-old twins Vivienne and Knox with Brad - had not considered getting pregnant until she fell in love with 44-year-old Brad.

She said: “I think one of the life changing things that Brad did for me, one of many, is that I was absolutely never going to get pregnant.”

“I never felt that it was the right thing to do.”

“I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to getting pregnant.”

“I suddenly wanted to. It’s one of those things you can’t explain.”

“I wouldn’t trade that experience for the world. It taught me a lot about life, just the process of it, and now we have three other beautiful children that wouldn’t otherwise be here.”

Angelina’s interview accompanies a series of intimate shots of the actress taken by Brad.

In one of the black and white pictures, which features on the front of W magazine, Angelina is seen breastfeeding one of the twins.

Angelina revealed she was comfortable showing off her post-pregnancy body in the shots, because Brad made her feel “sexy.”

She added: “I’m with a man who’s evolved enough to look at my body and see it as more beautiful, because of the journey it has taken and what it has created.”

“He genuinely sees it that way. So I genuinely feel even sexier.”

Angelina Jolie Backs Barack Obama

Angelina Jolie opens up to the German edition of Vanity Fair about everything from politics to her newborn twins. Here are some choice quotes via Us Weekly:

On why she could be voting for Barack Obama: “Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay. They are things which could move me to vote for him, not his roots. Of course, an American president like Barack Obama would be great for my family.” (On Monday, Brad carried a notebook with a Obama sticker on it.)

On why she’s proud of the USA: “I am very proud of being American, and all my children have got American passports. For me, our family is just what America is - a melting pot, a mixture of many different races and nations. My children should be proud of their Asian and African roots, but that in no way means [is] a lack of respect for the fact that they and their parents are Americans.”

On her twins Knox and Vivienne (3-months-old on Sunday): “It’s a damned arduous business, and we are often simply whacked out because it is twice as hard with two babies as with one. But it also makes for double the fun. After we flew back from Europe, we were all suffering a bit from jetlag. We were all in bed early, but at half past four, they were awake and making a real racket… Brad took care of them. He said to me, ‘Go back to sleep, you’re back to work in the morning,’ and moved into the kids’ room with them. He is an astounding father, full of devotion… [Knox and Vivienne] have quite similar, stable rhythms. Every three hours they get hungry, then I have to satisfy them. But that’s OK, the two of them are totally sweet. When you see them, you think they were made for each other. They laugh together, they sniff each other, touch each other. It is beautiful.”

On struggling to find alone time with Brad: “Sometimes, at the end of the day, we try to retire to the bathroom to be undisturbed,” she says. “But then [the kids] hear the water running and want to come in and, yet again, we are all together. But that doesn’t disturb us because they are great kids.”

On how fame has changed motherhood for her: “I would like to have more freedom, especially to have the chance to be more spontaneous with my kids. The German version of Vanity Fair magazine has yet another interview with Angelina Jolie for us to enjoy - I love when she takes the time to talk to the good magazines because it’s always so enjoyable to read what she has to say. In this issue she talks about Brad Pitt, her kids, and even gets (gasp!) political. Us Weekly has a few highlights for us to enjoy in case you’re not able to get the German Vanity Fair where you live (they’re hard to find here, but they’re also super expensive!).

On why she could be voting for Barack Obama: “Obama is fighting for international justice, he wants to intervene militarily in genocides abroad, and he wants to close down Guantanamo Bay. It’s exactly what she had said in the past, that due to her work with the UNHCR, she was especially interested in hearing what each candidate had to say about work in war-torn third world countries like the ones she continues to help on a constant basis.
