Trimester-specific bathing suit guide
2008-06-30 05:15:20 by Kim in Showing Pregnancy Fashion

Buying a bathing suit is always a challenge, but throw in an ever-changing body and that challenge is amplified. Take my trimester-specific advice on finding the perfect bathing suit to fit your beautiful pregnant bod.

Trimester 1: You are probably not showing much in this stage, so you can get away with wearing everything from your favorite itsy-bitsy bikini to your sleek black one-piece. Feeling a tad bloated? Throw a chic sarong around your mid-section and no one will even notice - and it will save you from having to suck in!

Trimester 2: For the honeymoon phase of pregnancy, have fun with your growing belly by wearing a colorful two-piece suit. A one-piece suit will also be the perfect look for your belly - just make sure it is maternity so it is cut to leave plenty of room for your growing belly. Another must-have is a suit with plenty of support for your bust.

Trimester 3: A tankini swimsuit features a separate “tank” top and bottoms. As your belly expands in the third trimester, a one piece can feel too confining and a two-piece can feel too bare. Pictured is the Twist Tankini from Isabella Oliver.
