If Those Waist Beads Break, You Should Probably Skip Dessert

More than once, I've walked into the bathroom, stepped on the scale, and realized I've gained three pounds. Not the end of the world, but not the the highlight of my day either. Now, however, with the introduction of waist beads, the scale can shock me no more. These lovely loops made of shells, semi-precious stones, feathers, and even bone have been worn by African women for years for, among other reasons, weight control. As the beads get tighter, you know you’re gaining a few pounds. I LOVE that! So long, scale!

Waist Beads by Sewra makes them to be durable and comfortable enough for everyday wear while bathing or sleeping. Although I'm not one for wearing the same jewelry day-in and day-out, this reflects the deeply personal meaning waist beads have for some wearers. Apparently, it takes a village to not only raise a child, but it also takes a village to dress a gal, too.
