I’m not sure why Phoebe Price is famous … I’m not sure Phoebe Price even knows why Phoebe Price is famous. But, nevertheless, the red-headed model/actress/socialite/perpetual fashion risk-taker/perfumer*(?) is a Hollywood fixture, randomly appearing on red carpets at high-profile events dressed in wacky, wild, and bright ensembles. The amiable and perky Ms. Price chatted with us at the premiere of Nim’s Island about – what else: shopping!
What are you wearing today?
The dress came from Intermix, and then the Dolce & Gabbana shoes. And I always like to wear very bright colors. I like to have fun with what I wear.
Talk to me about shopping!
I shop every day.
What are your tips for successful shopping?
You know there are some really good stores that people would really see you get designer brand names at a fraction of the cost. Some of them might have been worn once or they come from the studios, and these are always great finds. And it’s always great when Saks or Neiman Marcus has the big sales because they always knock the dresses down. But I always go for a lot of color and a lot of fun. I used to have a stylist but I love doing everything on my own because it’s part of me and my personality.
What was your biggest splurge ever?
I spent about $150 thousand dollars. I got a $75,000 Harry Winston watch, and a couple of Dolce & Gabbana dresses that I paid like $20,000 for. So that’s my biggest splurge.
Do you get a lot of use out of those items?
Well, no because after I’m photographed in it, I can’t wear it again. But I do get to wear the watch a lot … and I love it.

*P.S. Since interviewing Phoebe Price, I’ve learned that she’s also created and launched her own perfume line called Phoebe’s Fantasy …
