Fashion Trend: Wedge Heel Shoes
2008-05-11 12:49:00 by Maggiemac in Designing Divas Jewelry and Fashion Blog

I've always thought wedges weren't the most attractive shoes I've ever seen, but I found a style that totally refutes that idea – the cut out wedge. I don't know why they appeal to me so much. It might be that big chunk of heel that I didn't like so much. The cut out adds an extra dimension, and breaks up that big glob of heel. And I think they're quite ladylike.

Wedge for office or dinner:

What is a Wedge Heel?
On most shoes, the heel sits under only the back of the foot, but a wedge heel runs under the foot, from back to front. It's shaped like a wedge, but not all wedges have high heels. In fact, the heel height ranges from short to tall. It's the shape and the length of the heel that classify it as a wedge.

Low heel wedge:

Wedge heels add the illusion of height, but they're easier to walk in than stilettos. They add a touch of sophistication, and they look great with nearly any length skirt or dress. Wedges will add definition and shape to heavy ankles, making them appear thinner. While there are dressier styles of wedges, finding an elegant style can be a challenge.

Very elegant wedge:

Ranging from casual to elegant, wedges come in all styles and heights. While wedge heels are an extremely fashionable and versatile choice in women's footwear, they won't look great on everyone, or with every outfit – and like any shoe style, they have their pros and cons.

Semi-dressy wedge:

Wedges tend to look a bit on the casual side, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Say it's Saturday morning, and you have to hit the dry cleaners, the bank, and the pet store. What better to wear with that cute little skirt or your favorite shorts than a feminine little wedge with some country charm?

Totally casual hot little wedge:
