Get Smart gives The Love Guru bad karma at the Box Office

Get Smart has done well at the Box Office this weekend, this is Steve Carell’s update of the 1960’s classic TV show. Get Smart is now number one at the Box Office, as it took in $39.2 million on its debut weekend. This is now the second No. 1 movie of the summer to be adapted from a TV show, the first one is Sex and the City. Mike Myers will be feeling some bad karma this weekend, as his movie, The Love Guru, only managed to hit the No.4 spot.

Get Smart also stars Anne Hathaway, as well as Dwayne Johnson, who many might know better as The Rock. This film looks set to be the biggest movie for all the main stars, yes it could even be bigger than The Scorpion King. Many of my friends did not like The Scorpion King, but I thought it was great and Johnson was perfect for the role.

Get Smart is the second-biggest live-action comedy opener of 2008; it has just two weeks to do well as the movie will then be smashed by Will Smith’s Hancock, which is about a superhero that has fallen out of favour with the public.

So we have Get Smart at No.1, Kung Fu Panda at No.2, The Incredible Hulk at No.3 and The Love Guru at No.4. It does seem as if Mike Myers movie career has hit the slopes, the only thing that people seem to want to see him in is Sherk.
