Elizabeth Hurley is launching a range of organic and low-fat foods. Hurley lives with her husband and 6-year-old boy on a bio-dynamic farm in the English countryside and says her organic farm produces low-fat products, which she believes may help reduce the risk of breast cancer.
The British actress was reportedly inspired to go into business after ‘reading dietary advice for women hoping to avoid breast cancer - and discovering a massive gap in the market’.
The 43-year-old reportedly told media “I’m developing a line of products with a view that they’re not only going to be healthy, because they’re organic, but I’m obsessed that women find alternatives to eat which are low in fat.”
Hurley also reportedly explained the idea behind her plans “I think we know now that many issues with women’s health can be linked back to their diet. We’ve been saying for a long time that many breast cancer specialists recommend sticking to as low-fat a diet as possible, which all has to do with how estrogen is stored in the body.”
Hurley became a dedicated supporter of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation after her own grandmother died from the disease.
No news yet on when and where her line will be available.
